Privacy Policy
Effective date: August 14, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what information Tawssile ("Tawssile", "we", "us") collects through our customer app and driver app, how we use it, and who we share it with. Tawssile operates a delivery platform in Mauritania connecting customers, restaurants, and delivery drivers.
1. Information We Collect
From customers
- Account information: your name and phone number, used to identify your account and let restaurants and drivers contact you about an order.
- Delivery addresses and location: the delivery addresses you save, and GPS coordinates for pickup/drop-off points, so we can route your order and your driver correctly.
- Order history: the orders you've placed, their contents, status, and timestamps.
- Payment method: our platform is cash-based — we record which payment method you selected for an order (e.g. cash on delivery), but we do not collect or store card numbers, bank details, or other card-payment data.
- Device push-notification token: a token issued by your device's notification service (Firebase Cloud Messaging), used solely to deliver order-status notifications to your phone.
From drivers
- Account information: your name and phone number.
- Location while on duty: real-time and background GPS location while you are logged in and available or actively assigned to a delivery, so we can dispatch nearby orders, show your live position to customers tracking a delivery, and calculate routes and distances. Background location is used only in connection with active delivery duty — not collected when you are logged out or off duty.
- Delivery performance data: metrics such as completed deliveries, delivery times, and ratings, used to assign orders fairly and maintain service quality.
- Device push-notification token: used to deliver new-order and order-update notifications to your phone.
2. How We Use This Information
We use the information above only to operate the delivery service, specifically to:
- Match orders with the nearest available driver and calculate accurate delivery routes and fees.
- Let customers track their order and delivery driver in real time.
- Send order-status notifications (placed, confirmed, picked up, delivered, etc.) to customers and drivers.
- Maintain order history and support customer service requests.
- Monitor and improve delivery performance and reliability.
3. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We share information only as necessary to operate the platform:
- A driver assigned to your order can see the delivery address, contact name, and phone number needed to complete that delivery.
- A customer tracking an active order can see their assigned driver's name and live location for that delivery.
- We use infrastructure providers (such as Firebase Cloud Messaging, for push notifications, and Google Maps, for routing and geocoding) strictly to operate these features — they process data on our behalf and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes.
- We may disclose information if required to do so by law.
4. Data Retention
We retain account, order, and location information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the service, resolve disputes, and meet reasonable business and legal record-keeping needs. You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time — see Section 6 below.
5. Your Choices
- You can update your name, phone number, and saved addresses at any time from within the app.
- Drivers can go off duty at any time, which stops background location collection.
- You can disable push notifications from your device's system settings, though this may prevent you from receiving order-status updates.
6. Your Rights & Contact
To request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data, or if you have any questions about this Privacy Policy, contact us:
7. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time as our service evolves. We'll update the effective date above when we do. Continued use of the Tawssile app after a change means you accept the updated policy.
